A number of ‘Workplace assessments’ of operators within both the company’s asphalt and quarrying divisions. Involvement in a key rehabilitation project within Melbourne.

African Explosives Limited – Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa

Visited several quarries and mine sites, within South Africa, following detailed review of management reports and company documentation, regarding productivity performance measures, relating to the manufacture, delivery, service and technical support of bulk explosives products. This resulted in a number of interactive meetings, with both senior and executive management, to evaluate findings, seek out resolutions and agree a plan of action, moving forward.

UEE Explosives Australia – Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Review of UEE’s bulk explosives and blasting services capabilities – as they relate to the Australian quarrying industry. Worked with local and senior management to identify business critical issues, confirm ‘key performance indicators’, agree future ‘measures of performance’ and establish blast cost estimating/pricing methodology.

UEE Explosives Australia – Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Worked with local and senior management as they reviewed their annual performance, against formally agreed operational measures of performance, key performance indicators and business critical issues.

Orica Explosives Australia – Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, Australia

Facilitation of marketing review process for Orica Quarry and Construction Services’ team – relative to their current ‘Construction Blasting Services’ marketing initiative. Subsequent drafting of a report, which formed the basis of a formal presentation at the company’s prestigious ‘Market Focus Award’. No first prize was awarded; however, Orica Quarry and Construction Services’ Australian team won joint second place in this international competition.

Orica Explosives Brazil – San Paulo, Brazil

Visited several quarries and mine sites, within Brazil, following detailed evaluation of management reports and company documentation, regarding productivity performance measures relating to the manufacture, delivery, service and technical support of bulk explosives products. This resulted in the presentation of a report, with comprehensive recommendations - highlighting key opportunities for major improvement and significant cost

benefits for both Orica and their customers.

Orica Explosives Europe – Roburite, Lancashire, United Kingdom

Drafted a report, that pulled together a view of Orica Explosives’ global Quarry and Construction Services’ operations, with a focus on, and evaluation of, the existing ‘state of the nation’ - identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The document highlighted key areas of importance, through cross fertilisation of current examples of
