Mike Cameron has been a self-employed management consultant, course facilitator, coach and executive search recruiter since early 1998, following a career in senior corporate roles, spanning almost thirty-five years, within the explosives, quarrying and asphalt industries in Australia and overseas with responsibility for and a strong focus on profitability, fixed-cost management, strategic direction, value-adding innovation, procedural excellence and the development of highly motivated and committed teams with a common purpose.
He is currently the Principal of both Extractive Consulting and Strategically Yours, specialist entities offering technical, management and business consultation, as well as providing facilitation and training services to a number of companies. Together with a business partner, Vali Ghobadi, The Next Step Business Roundtable Program Pty Ltd was established to provide a range of high quality and accredited training for small business. Mike has had a significant past, long-term commitment to, and involvement in, professional institutions, industry associations, advisory boards and regulatory authorities with the key focus being open communication, community interaction, education, training and technological development. He was the creator and founding editor of Quarry, a full colour, 72 pages, monthly magazine for the Australian Institute of Quarrying – an honorary position he held for seven years. Mike has presented and had published a large number of both technical and marketing papers – one of which received the inaugural and prestigious IQA’s Australia Award as well as the UK’s Ruston Bucyrus Award.
